We're partnering with FinOn, a Dubai-based payments infrastructure company, on confidential stablecoin settlement and merchant payouts. For FinOn's clients, this means stablecoin payouts where only the people involved can see who was paid and how much.
Stablecoins settle in minutes and cost little to move. On a public chain, though, every payout is visible: who got paid, how much, how often, and from which wallet. Anyone watching an address can piece together a business's supplier relationships, payout schedules, volumes, and counterparties.
Public settlement works well for plenty of flows. But a business paying merchants or suppliers in stablecoins shouldn't have to make its payout history public to do it. With a bank transfer, those details remain between the parties involved, and stablecoin payouts should work the same way.
FinOn builds payment software for issuers, acquirers, fintechs and processors. Its PCI DSS certified platform covers white-label gateways, payment orchestration across PSPs and acquirers, 3D Secure, instant payments, cross-border remittance, and a back office for reconciliation and merchant payout rules. Payouts already run through FinOn, and Crypto & Web3 is one of the verticals it builds for, so it sits right where stablecoin settlement happens.
Hinkal is a privacy protocol for onchain payments, live on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Solana, TRON and other major EVM chains. Businesses can hold stablecoins in private balances, and each transfer is verified with a zero-knowledge proof, so the chain confirms it's valid without showing the amount or who's on either side. It's built to sit inside other products through the Hinkal SDK and API, and Tether's Wallet Development Kit and Turnkey wallets already offer it.
Payout setup wouldn't change. Onboarding, payout rules, routing, and reconciliation stay in FinOn. When a payout is made in stablecoins, it settles through Hinkal's private balances, so the amount and recipient stay out of public view.
That opens up a few use cases:
Sending payout batches without publishing what each merchant earns.
Paying vendors and partners without revealing who you work with.
Moving volumes without making it public.
Multi-party payouts where sellers don't see each other's numbers.
Keeping balances and movements away from competitors.
Privacy doesn't mean hiding from the people who need to see. Payment businesses still answer to regulators, banks and auditors, so Hinkal checks funds before they come in, and a business can hand its auditor a viewing key to show its transaction history whenever they ask.
We're glad to have FinOn alongside us. If your business already pays out in stablecoins or is considering it, reach out to see what a confidential settlement could look like for your flows.
